In Internet Marketing one of the keys to success is having a list.
That is a list of people who you send regular emails to and market your products and services or products and services of other website owners... as an affiliate. The trick is building a list to begin with. Here are three simple steps for getting people to join your list. Create a Free Product The first step to getting people to join your list is to create your own product, or have one made for you, and then offer it to other people online and/or offline. This product can be just about anything but it has to have value and it also has to be related to the niche your building your list in. The product doesn't have to be overly long or give away too much information but it does have to provide value to the person who signs up on your list. If not, then they won't stay on your list very long and they will think of you as someone who can't do much for them. Make the Offer Exclusive Once you have your product then you need to start marketing it. When you market it the product you want to make sure that you stress that it's free and that it's only available to people who sign-up on your list. The free part will make people interested (everyone loves free stuff) and the part about only getting it for joining your list will obviously make people sign-up for your list. Drive Traffic to Your Site The last part of these 3 easy steps for getting people to join your list is to drive traffic to your site. There are many different ways to do this. There are many free ways to drive the traffic and there are ways to pay to get traffic to your site. Some of the free ways include writing articles, setting up social networking pages, and blogging. You can also participate in forums that are related to your site and put the URL of the site in your signature line. If you decide to write articles then you should submit the articles to places like ezinearticles.com and place your site's URL in your signature box. The main way to pay to get traffic is to advertise with Google's AdWords. You can pay to run an advertisement whenever a certain keyword phrase is searched for. While this can bring in a lot of very targeted traffic, if you don't know what you're doing then you can lose a lot of money. Save using PPC for when you learn more on it. In the meantime, you may want to take advantage of other forms of paid advertising, like online classified sites, solo and sponsored ads in ezines, banner advertising, just to name a few. List building is truly the first step one should implement before doing any kind of marketing online. You'll want to go where the people are, (the people in your niche) grab their interest, then follow up with great offers... Plus give added value as well, and do so on a regular basis. You'll then be on your way to becoming an online marketing success!

Recently a partner of mine had 3 of his content websites delisted from Google search results and he asked for my advice. As a result, I did an extensive study into the possible scenarios where Google will delist a website from its search.
Instead of keeping my findings in my memory, I think it's better to pen them down in this article so that you and I can refer to it in the future. Here are some of the proven reasons why a website is delisted from Google: 1) Repeated spelling and syntactical errors It has been confirmed by Google spokesman that a website can be delisted from its search engine due to repeated spelling and syntactical errors. Here's what Google spokesman, Artie Su, said "When our systems syntactically analyze the words on a page, it's very easy to determine whether correct grammar is being followed. When it isn't, particularly if the errors are consistently repeated over a period of time, the site gets downgraded. That's because most spammers and creators of junk commercial sites don't do any kind of quality control. Grammar check is an easy way to spot them." If your website repeatedly contains a particular misspelled word, or it's primarily made up of junk content (such as those computer generated content), you are at a high risk of being delisted from Google search. 2) Adding a large number of external links in a short time If you, for whatever reason, add a lot of external links to your website, you can be delisted from Google search. One possible scenario is where your server is hacked and spammers add lots of links to your website without you knowing. Most of these links are hidden. You won't see them unless you study the source code. Another possible scenario is when you are too active in link exchange. Let's take link directories for example, most link directories will have an option for you to link back to them. If you spend one whole day exchanging links with 200 link directories, your website is at risk. (Note that I'm talking about external links from your website to other websites, not incoming links from other websites to your website.) 3) Sitemap error This is a rare problem but it can happen. Your server may block Google bot from crawling your site. If you realize that all your websites in the same server are delisted from Google, this may be the reason. To solve the problem, you'll have to inform your server about it. This is a technical problem. If you want for info, it's better to read this article: http://beecherbowers.com/2009/02/03/google-sitemap-timeout-errors/ 4) Hidden links Hidden links can get your website delisted from Google. A typical trick to hide your links by making the color of your link same color as the background, so that your visitor cannot see them but the search bot can. Another common trick is by putting the links in an invisible tag. 5) Doorway pages The idea of a doorway page is to present one version of the page to the search engines while showing another version to the visitors. This is against Google's principle, which is "Don't deceive your users or present different content to search engines than you display to users." I've just started to explore the issue of being delisted from Google. In the next few weeks (or even months), I'll be doing several things to see if I can get the 3 websites listed in Google search again. As usual, I'll keep you updated on any interesting discoveries. Last but not least, I'll end this article with 2 useful links from Google: What to do if your site isn't doing well in search http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=34444 How to ask Google to reconsider your site http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=35843 You can access this article and subscribe to Ken's blog at: http://www.leadsleap.com/blog/
If you're looking to make money with Internet marketing then you
should not rule out forum marketing. Many online marketers today are driving a lot of quality traffic of targeted visitors and buyers by participating on forums. Here's how you can use forums to boost your Internet Marketing business as well. First you'll want to target forums within your niche. Then you will want to sign-up and become a member on a few different forums. Once you're all signed-up on a few forums you can begin to post to the forum. WARNING: (and don't say I didn't warn you if you don't follow this advice!) Read the forum rules before making any posts there. If you break any rules by coming in promoting your business (spam) or placing any links after your post (signature file that some forums do not allow) then you'll come off as an amateur marketer and an inconsiderate forum newbie. Not always the best way to make a first impression! You really don't want to start marketing directly to people anyway. Marketing directly to people won't be your goal on any forum. However, your goal on forums within your niche will be to establish yourself as an expert. You want people to come to trust you and you want them to know that you're very knowledgeable about the niche. To do this you should make quality posts frequently and you should also answer the questions that other people ask on the forum. It's also a good idea to make your first post one that is only meant to introduce yourself to the group. Many forums have a section or folder set aside for "newbies" to do just that. You should also check out a few Internet Marketing forums. You want to soak up as much knowledge as possible. No matter how much you know about Internet Marketing you can always learn more. And there are always people on the IM forums who can teach you to be more successful with your online business. One of the top IM forums today is the warrior forum. Another option on how to use forums to boost your Internet Marketing business is to create your very own forum. and it's actually quite easy to set-up. However, you will have to market it and make sure it's not being abused by anyone with spam and by forum "trolls." But having your own forum gives you a lot of credibility and the
members of your forum will be very likely to buy from you. For
software that goes out and helps you get backlinks on forums (a bit
black hat), check out Forum Equalizer.
Just about anyone who has a business on the Internet uses article
marketing as part of their marketing efforts. Article marketing is
when a person writes an article related to a product or service
they're offering in an attempt to get more people to become their
customer.
Unfortunately not many people know the best way to
write articles for marketing.
One of the keys to writing articles is to make sure they will rank
high on the search engines. This is done through search engine
optimization. This means that the article is written using a
keyword or a keyword phrase in the article so that the article
appears when that keyword or keyword phrase is searched for. Just about everyone who writes articles knows that the articles
have to be search engine optimized, so this is followed, but the
other key for the right way to write articles is completely
overlooked. The other key ingredient is to make sure the article is
well-written, easy to read, and informative.
Too many people simply write an article as fast as they can and
pump it full of keywords or a keyword phrases and then throw it up
on the Internet. The article is not educational and has no value to
anyone. So people will find the article but they won't go any
further. Those starting to write articles should remember there are two steps
that must be taken by any potential customers. First the person has
to find the article and then they have to read it and find enough
value to want to continue to where the article directs them. There are many people who write articles but absolutely hate it.
Many of these people also have no idea how to write a good article.
Luckily there is a formula they can follow.
The first part of a good article is the title. The title should
include the keyword or keyword phrase and it should also promise to
give a benefit to the reader. For example, it might promise it will
tell them how to save money on gas or it might promise to tell them the best way to write an article (just as the title of this
article does). One thing to keep in mind is to always give people a
list or a specific number of solutions to a problem. People love
reading these types of articles. Next an introduction has to be written. This will introduce the
reader to the topic and should include a something that
will keep the people reading.
Then in the body of the article, you should give them the benefit
that was promised in the title. Make sure you give them what was
promised. If you promised 4 Ways to Save Money on Gas, then you
better give them 4 ways to save money on gas! If not, theyll get
disgusted and simply click-out of your article.
Finally, in the conclusion you should just sum-up what the entire
article was about. Some people like to make the conclusion a mirror
image of the introduction.
Many people write articles and post them on the Internet but not
many people actually know the right way to write articles. A good
article needs to be optimized for search engines and it also needs
to be well-written so that the article leads the reader to where
you want them to go.

Over the last couple of years, social networking sites have become
very popular. Millions of people flock to social networking sites
every single day. And these people keep coming back on a regular
basis. Social networking sites are both fun and addictive.
It didn't take long for Internet Marketers to realize that social
networking sites were a potential gold mine. Here were all these
people who were on one site. What a great place to pitch products
and services!
Most Internet Marketers went about selling the right way but some
of them didn't. A few people turned to spamming the social
networking sites and these people ruined it for everyone else. The
social networking sites stopped a lot of the Internet Marketing but
there is still some selling going on. However, if Internet Marketers only see social networking sites as
a place to sell products or services, then they're missing a huge
opportunity. Social networking sites are meant to bring like-minded
people together. And this is how Internet Marketers should be using
them too. Most Internet Marketers are in niches that they truly love. That's
the reason why they're successful in those niches. They have a real
passion for them. So they should take that same passion and use it
on social networking sites without a direct eye at peddling their
products and/or services. They should go to the social networking
sites and use the sites how they were meant to be used to connect
with other people who also love a particular niche. Over time, an Internet Marketer can develop a great relationship
with at least a few different people. These people will probably be
very knowledgeable about the topic that the social networking site
is built around. Once the IMer has built up a good relationship,
those people then become at the very least a good opinion on
different products and services. And one or more of those people
could help develop a great product and/or service; they could even
become a partner. Some of the most popular social sites continue to be MySpace,
FaceBook, Ryze, and Twitter. However, other social sites
such as Xanga.com, FacePaint.com, and Squidoo.com should not be overlooked. In
fact, there are new sites popping up all the time that Internet
Marketers should keep an eye out for. It often helps to be one of
the first to join a new social networking site.
In the last few years, many new social networking sites have sprung
up on the Internet. This is partially because many of the social
networking sites that currently exist are very popular. In fact,
these sites are so popular that millions of people visit them every
day. This is why Internet Marketers love social networking sites.
They are many people to market to. However, IMers need to also see
social networking sites as chance to network within other people in
their niche.
It's not easy to write sales copy. Writing high converting copy is even harder. An effective sales letter always has to begin with a great headline. The headline has to hook the potential customer and get him or her to continue reading the copy. Here are the 4 main goals to focus on when writing sales copy headlines. Unfortunately there isn't some magic formula that will automatically make every headline a great headline. Every product or service that's being sold is different and needs a different type of sales pitch. However, there are 4 main goals that you should always focus on when writing the headline. Include Urgency Every headline you write should include a certain degree of urgency. In other words, you want to get across to the reader that they need to buy what you're selling as soon as possible. If you don't create urgency for them to buy with the headline then you at least need to make it urgent for them to read the rest of the sales copy. Be Very Specific The more specific you can be with your headline the more people you'll hook. For example, don't just write that your product will make them thinner. Write that they will lose 10 pounds within the first 2 weeks. Don't just tell them your software will save them time; tell them your software will shave 2 hours off every working day. Make it Unique You need to headline to stand apart from all the other ads that the potential customer is being bombarded with wherever he or she may go. So you either need to find a unique sales point or you need to find a unique way to present that selling point. Make it Useful No one is going to read your copy if they don't think there's anything in it for them. So make sure you tell the reader why they should keep reading or why they should buy your product. This means you need to put a great hook in your headline and/or you need to include a great benefit. Often copy writers take the best benefit of a product and work that into a headline. 4 main goals to focus on when writing sales copy headlines are to include urgency, to be very specific, to make it unique, and to make it useful. If you remember to keep these 4 things in mind then you will have a strong headline that will hook potential customers and get them to at least keep reading your copy. Right now is the perfect time to start an online business. With the economy in a recession it may not seem like it , but economic downturns actually provide the perfect opportunity to start your own business. Here are 3 reasons to consider starting an online business today. Things are Often Priced Lower During a recession you can get a lot of things at a lower cost. This includes marketing supplies and products you might need or want to sell. It also includes advertising, so you should be able to often purchase ads for a very reasonable price. Hiring Help May Cost Less Another great reason to start an online business now is because people may offer their services cheaper. With the down economy you can hire people to help with your business at cheaper rates than they'd probably charge otherwise. This will allow you to get a really good start on your business. It will save you a lot of money and with hiring freelancers you'll be able to get a lot more done. Less Competition Starting a business now, you'll have less competition. There are a lot of businesses that have recently gone under, or are struggling right now. Because of this, timing is perfect to come into the marketplace and offer more value at a cost a bit less when businesses are thriving. As a new business you'll be able to build from the ground up while existing businesses need to tear down and scale back things. You won't need to be concerned about taking any steps back, you can simply go full speed ahead. One of the fastest and easiest ways to get started with a new business online is through affiliate marketing. That is because with affiliate marketing you don't need your own product, nor do you even need your own website. To learn how to do affiliate marketing the right way, check out this video from John Reese: opportunity.com/review
There are an endless amount of free online marketing opportunities
for your business. One of the best ways is using a social
networking site called Twitter, and it's really easy to sign-up for. All you do is go to
Twitter.com and then follow the directions. (click link to follow me there!)
Once you're signed up
then you can begin to tweet. A tweet is a short message (140 characters or less) that you type in a little box and then anyone who's following you will see it. You can tweet about anything that's on your mind or any helpful info. The first tip is to make sure you fill out all the information in
your profile. This will help people get to know about you and/or
your business. It's especially important that you put a link to
your site in your profile.
The second tip to boost your business with Twitter is to put a
unique background on your account. This will help you stand out
from the rest of the crowd. It will also help your
overall brand, especially if you have a background that is your
logo or something else that is associated with your brand. Another great tip is to put your logo in the picture on your
profile. If you are a sole proprietor then you might consider
putting a picture of yourself on your Twitter page. Whichever fits
your overall brand better is what you should use. To boost your business with Twitter you also want to put your
Twitter ID on your business cards, email signature, and any other
place where people can see it. This will help people find you and
it will help start a dialogue between you and potential customers. Finally, the last of the 5 tips to boost your business with Twitter
is to give value through your tweets. Don't just make little tweets
about your business. Actually give helpful advice. Try to answer
everyone who tweets at you. And don't ever get too spammy with your
tweets. In fact, never try to directly sell anything at anytime. If you follow these 5 tips then you will help your business simply
by joining and then using Twitter.

To make money in any business, being able to market effectively is vital. However, many small business owners don't understand the exact meaning of marketing. One of the most common misconceptions is confusing advertising for marketing. To begin to explain the difference between marketing and advertising we need to begin with the fact that marketing is much larger and broader than advertising. In fact, advertising is a part of marketing, but there is much, much more to marketing than advertising. Obviously advertising is paying to get what you're selling in front of other people. There are many different ways to advertise. Online there are free ways to advertise and ways that cost money to advertise. Some of the free ways to advertise include writing articles, writing blogs, and creating videos on YouTube. Marketing includes everything you do and everything that's a part of your business. So every email you send is part of your marketing campaign. Every forum post you make, every website you own, all the content you put on the web, and anything else you do that's related to your business is part of your marketing. This is especially true of the way you treat your customers. You customer service is a huge part of your marketing. Always remember that everything you do is marketing your business, and in doing that you're either helping your business or hurting your business. To help ensure that your business grows, search out ways to help make your business better. Too often small business people mistakenly think that marketing and advertising is the same thing. This results in a substantial amount of marketing being ignored. Then the business suffers because there are entire segments of marketing that aren't being addressed. Always remember that everything you do that's even remotely related to your business is part of the way other people see you and your business. Therefore it's all part of your marketing and should be treated as such. If you've never studied advertising, you'll first want to check out Claude Hopkin's Scientific Advertising. It's a classic and required reading for anyone serious about their business.
